Blood anemia due to parasites not iron deficiency
Did you know anaemia may be caused by parasite infections? Typically, when you're diagnosed anemia, you're told you need iron. However, that is far from true. Anaemia can be due to several other things than iron deficiency - and many will also discover by further testing that their iron is actually quite normal, despite the fact that they have been diagnosed with anaemia. Iron is one of the minerals you certainly don't just want to take “just in case” - there are as many negative aspects of too much iron as too low. New figures from the CDC reflect that over 50 % of us carry parasite infections. Can you test for that? Not currently no - the available laboratory testing for parasites are useless as they are extremely inaccurate, so don’t waste your money or time on that. If you have traveled in India, Asia, Africa or regularly eat sushi, like your steaks rare, have pets - and if you have never taken been on a parasite cleanse, you can count on that yes, you have parasites. And if you have any of the symptoms (skin rash, constipation, anaemia, various digestive disorders) that can typically be linked to these unesthetic crawlers, then it's very simply a matter of just start treating them - because the question is generally not whether we have them, but to how much we are burdened by them. Yes, it's super gross, but only more gross is not doing anything about it. Reference: Asia Pac J Clin Nutr. 2007;16(4):716-23. Why athletes thrive on a plant-based diet (and why you likely won't long-term!)
There has been a lot of buzz surrounding going all-in vegan aka plant-based. A popular Netflix doc was made showing how athletes reported greater endurance, performance and so forth when switching over to a plant-based diet.
And this totally makes sense.
However, this led non-athletes to believe that they should copy the eating pattern of athletes, because “obviously“ this was showing to be the ideal way to eat.
Now this totally does not make sense.
Athletes typically have an energy demand of around 8000-10000 calories daily and require 1-1.5g of protein pr. kg. bodyweight. An average Joe might have an energy demand of around 2000-3000 calories daily and still require 1-1.5g of protein for optimal appetite control, bone health and muscle growth.
The athlete is thus needing to eat 3-5 x as many calories to meet their energy demand, yet their protein demand is about the same as your average Joe. This means the athlete is going to benefit from eating more plant-based food because they can easily reach their protein requirements from plants alone due to the high volume they are taking in daily.
Now if you downsize that food to about a quarter which meets the energy demand for the average Joe, you’re going to have great difficulty meeting your protein needs. And this will affect your overall health negatively: often weightloss resistance, cravings, muscle-loss, bone-loss and sagging skin even.
I'm LIVE: talking with personal trainer Rocky Snyder
I'm talking to personal trainer Rocky Snyder about how mental health, hormone imbalance and men's health issues more than ever is tied to toxicity issues (also lots of crazy facial expressions going on here, but hey, I just had a double-dipped chocolate croissant, so probably a sugar-high, what can I say).
Cordyceps: more than 21 clinically approved benefits on human health including anti-diabetic, anti-tumor, anti-oxidative, immunomodulatory, sexual potentiator and anti-ageing effects.
“Cordyceps has a long history of use as a lung and kidney tonic, and for the treatment of chronic bronchitis, asthma, tuberculosis and other diseases of the respiratory system. The cardiovascular effects of Cordyceps are being noticed more frequently by researchers as it works through variety of possible ways either by lowering high blood pressure via direct dilatory effects or mediated through M-cholinergic receptors resulting in improvement in the coronary and cerebral blood circulation.”
Why you do NOT want to consume "light" or "sugarfree"
I’ve never been a fan of light products. It’s just counterintuitive to common sense: the body counts calories partly based on taste in combo with calorie density, and if we mess with food, that will very likely have an impact on our appetite-satiety switch, which is the worst thing ever to mess with, if we wish to have a healthy relationship with food, body and weight. It is true: we don’t have science to support that drinking artificial sweetened products can be tied to serious diseases. However, I think that is pretty much besides the point. Just because you don’t get cancer from one single life-style factor, it doesn’t make it harmless.
You. On coffee.
It is critical to understand that coffee should be consumed no more than 3-4 x weekly, in order to keep performance optimization in tact from caffeine. If we take in high amounts of caffeine daily, we deplete our adrenals and actually lower our baseline performance. In this case, coffee only serves to help us feel somewhat normal over time, rather than the over-performer we aim to be. So go check your coffee habits. Click on to get the studies.
Genetic effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields
“The types of gene expression affected (e.g., genes involved in cell cycle arrest, apoptosis and stress responses, heat-shock proteins) are consistent with the findings that EMF causes genetic damages” Read full study here: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/15368378.2021.1881866

Article feature: We are living in a toxicological experiment
I’ve written an article (Danish only) in Natur Helse about the rise in chronic illness. Did you know that in many cases, there has been a >1000% increase in chronic illnesses since the 90ies? What do we know today is contributing to this development - read article here. And feel free to share.
What EMF looks like
Our understanding of EMF is similar to back when we thought bacteria wouldn’t cause harm, cause we couldn’t see them. Today we seem to refuse to learn from history - instead of waiting for something to be proven dangerous, we should wait to see, if it is proven safe and not harmful for humans. Just cause we can’t see something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist or doesn’t impact us. In this article they colored what EMF looks like if it were visible to the eye - check it out here.
Natural vitamins superior to synthetic ones.
Science cannot create life. Only life can create life. Obviously, there is a difference. Supplements food-based, isolated or synthetic, has detracted from the most important part of health and healing. The basics of proper diet, exercise, detoxification, structure, mental/emotional and spiritual health must all be in order for true healing to occur. No supplement will work on its own if these foundations are not in place. However, even when these foundations are in place, or if the situation is acute enough to necessitate a more immediate treatment response, supplement support may still be needed for a while. You may also want to take one or more food-based supplements to ensure you are getting an adequate array of nutrients in your diet. When these situations arise, it is recommend food-based supplements be your first choice. How to known whether or not a supplement good choice? For starters, make sure it has the following characteristics: it is as close as possible to its natural form. The utmost care has been taken in all phases of its production, from growing its ingredients, to manufacturing, testing for potency and quality control. Select from companies that have a long track record of providing high quality products that produce good clinical results. Most vitamins sold are not food. They are synthetically processed petroleum and/or hydrogenated sugar extracts, even if they say “natural” on the label.
Study: 6 months with glucosamine and chondroitin was NO BETTER THAN A PLACEBO
Glucosamine and chondroitin are one of the supplements that always seem to be recommended for joint issues and should work in theory. But theory is not always what happens in real life. I have not seen real results with this in clinic and have been hesitant to recommend it, as research is sketchy and positive feedback as well. In a study in The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers found that a full 6 months of supplementation with glucosamine and chondroitin was NO BETTER THAN A PLACEBO.
This is crazy: How source of funding affects results (on dangers of wifi and cell phone use)
“Several meta-analyses dating from about 2000 all report significant associations between exposure and risk of leukemia. By examining subsequent reports on childhood leukemia it is clear that almost all government or independent studies find either a statistically significant association between magnetic field exposure and childhood leukemia, or an elevated risk of at least OR = 1.5, while almost all industry supported studies fail to find any significant or even suggestive association. A secondary goal of this report is to examine the level of evidence for exposure and elevated risk of various adult cancers. Based on pooled or meta-analyses as well as subsequent peer-reviewed studies there is strong evidence that excessive exposure to magnetic fields increases risk of adult leukemia, male and female breast cancer and brain cancer. There is less convincing but suggestive evidence for elevations in several other cancer types. There is less clear evidence for bias based on source of funding in the adult cancer studies. There is also some evidence that both paternal and maternal prenatal exposure to magnetic fields results in an increased risk of leukemia and brain cancer in offspring. When one allows for bias reflected in source of funding, the evidence that magnetic fields increase risk of cancer is neither inconsistent nor inconclusive. Furthermore adults are also at risk, not just children, and there is strong evidence for cancers in addition to leukemia, particularly brain and breast cancer.”
I recommend everyone get an EMFields Acoustimeter AM11 (retails for approx. 500USD/ 2800 Danish Kroner), which is an easy tool to measure your home environment safety and do something about it. Without testing your environment and understanding where it is coming from (your own devices, cell phone towers, your neighbour’s wifi router placed against your bedroom etc.), it gets very abstract to talk about whether EMF is an issue for your and your family - test don’t guess. Study: "Melatonin May Increase Anticancer Potential of Pleiotropic Drugs"
“Melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine) is not only a pineal hormone, but also an ubiquitary molecule present in plants and part of our diet. Numerous preclinical and some clinical reports pointed to its multiple beneficial effects including oncostatic properties, and as such, it has become one of the most aspiring goals in cancer prevention/therapy. A link between cancer and inflammation and/or metabolic disorders has been well established and the therapy of these conditions with so-called pleiotropic drugs, which include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, statins and peroral antidiabetics, modulates a cancer risk too. Adjuvant therapy with melatonin may improve the oncostatic potential of these drugs. Results from preclinical studies are limited though support this hypothesis, which, however, remains to be verified by further research.” Read the full study here: https://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/19/12/3910 and feel free to share.
How to treat swimmer's ear naturally
Swimmer’s ear is something many of us get to deal with at some point in our life, if we love swimming. It is caused by either Staphylococcus aureus or Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Both bacteria thrive in moist environments, why it is critical to keep those ears dry after showering or going swimming. The common treatment route will be antibiotics, but if this becomes an often scenario, we might want to check out some natural remedies, as no one wants to take antibiotics too frequently. In this study they compared conventional antibiotics to natural antibiotics, which have shown to be quite efficient against both bacteria strains as well: “In summary, we demonstrate here that cassia, Peru balsam, and red thyme essential oils are more effective in eradicating Pseudomonas and S. aureus biofilms than selected important antibiotics, making them interesting candidates for the treatment of biofilms.” Read the study here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3346404/ and feel free to share.
I'm LIVE on the Holistic Nootropics podcast talking about toxicity
I had pleasure of talking with Erik Levi, the host of Holistic Nootropics podcast about how toxicity is ruining our health today. I love how Erik Levi talks to a lot of very different people, who have different opinions about health which makes for a super balanced podcast experience - he’s had legendary Dr. James Greenblatt (eating disorder specialist) on his show along with Dr. Kurt Woeller (all things lab related expert) to name just two of my favorite people
Lead poisoning linked to ADHD
Did you know that lead poisoning causes cognitive, motor, and behavioral changes? In addition, it has been shown, that it also plays a role in the pathophysiology of ADHD. Lead exposure is estimated to account for 290,000 excess cases of ADHD in US children.
Read the full study here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17185283/
The most common sources of lead are through our drinking water and typical “men’s jobs” i.e. mechanics and the like. If we don’t test for it, we can’t treat it.
Is your coffee maker making you sick? (How to fix it and still drink coffee)
The best way to drink coffee to avoid mold issues is to grind the beans and use them within a month and only use French press. However, if you are not up for that, then watch The Doctor’s discuss a couple useful tips for better coffee habits here:
How hygienic is your coffee machine?
“The washer plate of the Nespresso® compatible coffee machine had a reading of 4000 colony forming units (CFU)! Anything more than 75 CFU as stated in the official Health Act (Act 63, 1977) on Total Microbial Activity is unsatisfactory and any reading above 1000 CFU is unacceptable as it raises major health concerns. SWIFT states that it requires immediate attention. The washer plate was therefore nearly 54 times over the limit of the official Health Act recommendation. The Mould reading came to 10 CFU on the washer plate, which is not concerning, but it is still not nice to know that mould could end up in your coffee cup.”
However, simply cleaning your Nespresso machine with something as simple as vinegar 1-2 x weekly will solve this issue. Read the article here.
Study shows: Your microwave may be the biggest EMF contributor in your home
“Microwaves are electromagnetic waves with frequencies ranging from 300 MHz to 300 GHz. Microwaves are widely used in households, industry, communications, and medical and military buildings, and they provide substantial contributions to the development of human society. However, with its popularization, increasing attention has been paid to its influence on humans. Electromagnetic radiation can be absorbed by organisms, in which it causes a series of physiological and functional changes. Many intricate electrical activities occur in the central nervous system, including learning and memory, which are therefore vulnerable to electromagnetic radiation. Moreover, the popularization of mobile phones has made them the main source of brain exposure to radiation. Therefore, the central nervous system is considered one of the most sensitive organs that is targeted by microwave radiation. A large number of studies have shown that microwave radiation can cause a series of adverse reactions in the central nervous system, including sleep disorders in addition to learning and memory impairments.” Click on to read the full study.
