Environmental toxins linked to Parkinson's (more than genes)

There has been more and more research supporting the notion that Parkinson’s is not just malfunctioning genes, but rather exposure to heavy load of environmental toxins. Detox is essential for the body to rid itself of environmental toxins and prevent genetic determination from becoming genetic destiny. However, cellular detox needs to be done before permanent DNA damage has occurred (stage 4 Parkinson’s) - early detection is of utmost important if we want to avoid disease becoming a chronic factor in our life later on.

Early signs of Parkinson’s include:

What are early warning signs of Parkinson's disease?

  • Tremor. A tremor, or shaking, usually begins in a limb, often your hand or fingers

  • Slowed movement (bradykinesia)

  • Impaired balance

  • Speech changes

  • Writing changes

These are all signs of neuroinflammation - and this needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Too often we wait til it gets worse, and it gets very difficult to do anything about it. Keep in mind that cancer and most autoimmune diseases take 10+ years to fully manifest - and once that happens, often the biochemistry of the disease is just too strong to reverse.

“Although at least 15 genes and genetic loci have been associated with Parkinson’s, identified genetic causes are responsible for only a few percent of cases. Epidemiologic studies have found increased risk of Parkinson’s associated with exposure to environmental toxicants such as pesticides, solvents, metals, and other pollutants, and many of these compounds recapitulate Parkinson’s pathology in animal models”
