Study finds: How long-term use of Botox actually accelerates skin aging

A 2016 study published in PLoS One found that Botox leads to loss in tissue density and bone volume, among other alarming side effects. In short: Botox is not harmless and seems to accelerate skin aging (thin skin) when used long-term.

So what to do instead? I recommend ensuring your skin care regime includes following non-toxic and anti-aging proven beauty strategies:

1) Take colloidal silica daily to boost collagen production.

2) Get your zinc levels measured. If low supplement to clear skin and boost collagen production.

3) Take omega-3 daily for more supple skin.

4) Use a retinoid based night cream 3 nights a week to help skin turnover and boost collagen.

5) Use a minimum 10% vitamin c cream on alternate nights to boost collagen production.

6) Use a face oil nightly after hydrating with water-based serums or gels - I recommend rosehip oil or evenings primrose oil to rehydrate skin.

7) Use a chemical exfoliant weekly such as The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution to remove dead skin cells and clear pigmentation.

8) Use a hat to protect your face from too much sun exposure as your skin will become more sensitive when using retinoids and chemical peels.
